AWIP’s Paw Print Spotlight: Angles for Animals Network

When Gizela was younger, she used to feed the wild raccoons with her mother. They did this to try and prevent the raccoons from rooting through people’s garbage and lawns. Now, Gizela has graduated to bigger animals and helps to save dogs, cats and all kinds of critters by heading Angels for Animals Network!

Angels for Animals rescues animals any way they can! From straight off the street to high kill shelters, the Angels are there to help out. They even rescue from Puerto Rico and have helped with out of state rescues! Though they mostly rescue dogs, they have also taken in cats and even some birds and bunnies.

Their main focus over at Angels for Animals is to help.  This is what really sets them apart from many rescues and shelters. They are always sure to put the animal first. In instances where the animal is unadoptable for any reason, they will always take care of the animal. They will do every single thing possible to avoid having to put the animal down. They are a no kill shelter. For this reason, Angels for Animals acts as a sanctuary for animals as well as a rescue!

They also foster all of the pets, allowing them to really get to know characteristics, personality, and behaviors of the animals up for adoption. This ensures that they are able to find the perfect new home for them. When you do adopt a pet from them, they are always there to help, be it with vets, shots, or even if you just have a question.

Angels for Animals Network has some amazing people working with them, but they can always use more fosters and volunteers! Volunteers are needed to help out with the animals on adoption days, and help with fundraisers, canister collection, flea markets, and special events!

If you can’t donate your time, you can always give a monetary donation or help them get some items on their wish list! There are tons of cat, dog, cleaning, medical and office supplies they can benefit from receiving. They can also use linens such as blankets, sheets, throws, comforters, and towels. Or, you can always give them gift cards to pet supply stores, Wal-Mart, Target, Grocery Stores, and many other places! To see their full wish list, CLICK HERE..

The Angels are at the Pet Valu on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, NJ every Saturday from 3-6:30 PM. You can visit them there or give Gisela a call if there is a particular pet you’re interested in. They prefer to adopt locally, including the Tri-State Area and some parts of Pennsylvania.
